MADRONA PUBLIC LIBRARY / ARCH 304, Winter 2010 / Louisa Iarocci & Galen Minah, Instructors / Set in Seattle's Madrona neighborhood, this 10,000 SF project blurs the boundaries between inside and outside and redefines the experience of going to the library to check out and read a book, or so simply be part of the greater community and social environment. Based on the concepts of movement and cycles of the individual and the book, the building has a series of interior and exterior ramps that connect different spaces of various programatic and specific security needs, as well as offers unique views within the library and beyond.
